A few years ago, I purchased the Rifle Paper Co. x Loloi Palais Luxembourg Black Printed Rug for my then dining room, now office. The pattern is absolutely gorgeous and because it’s printed rather than hand loomed, the price is right. 

I’ve been happy enough that when it came time to pick a rug for my new living room, I decided to go with another Rifle Paper Co. rug, this time in my current living room color scheme of blue/green/orange. (I briefly debated a jute rug for the timeless look but wanted something soft (not scratchy) underfoot, to keep with the cozy vibe I’m going for.) I ended up going with the Rifle Paper Co. x Loloi Eden Mughal Garden Cream Rug feat CloudPile, which I was able to score on Wayfair for more than 50% off the sticker price, bringing the total to under $350 for a 7’6’’x9’6’’. 

Oh my goodness. This new Rifle Paper Co. rug is SO MUCH BETTER than my old one. I thought I knew what I was getting into because it’s the same brand, but the construction is totally different. The “CloudPile™” feature is so soft to the touch. It feels like walking on a thick fleece blanket. And even though it is still printed, the fleece-like fibers stand up on the rug, making the rug look more luxe than it actually is. 

Now that I have experienced the magic of CloudPile™, I don’t know that I can ever go back. I am really hoping to find a neutral cream colored rug in CloudPile™ for my bedroom (something like this in design) and maybe another fun Rifle Paper Co. CloudPile™ rug for our bonus room. The trouble is, on the Loloi rug site, “CloudPile™” is not an available filter so you sort of have to go through the rugs one by one to see if CloudPile™ is in the description.
