As a New Englander, sweaters are a daily staple for me at least 6 months of the year. While lightweight sweaters have their place, it’s chunkier knits in super plush cashmere or cotton that I find myself turning to day after day. Without question, the softest most wonderful sweater I own is the Chiara Cashmere Turtleneck from Banana Republic, which was sadly discontinued and is no longer available. I hunt down every color I can find in my size on resale sites because it is just too good.
Here are some other sweaters that I’m eyeing this season, especially during the Cyber Weekend Sales today.

- J. Crew Ribbed cashmere oversized sweater ($228 marked down to $199.50; 100% cashmere) // I recently popped into J. Crew and went around feeling every sweater I could get my paws on. This sweater was so unbelievably soft. I also really loved the thick material. This sweater is not cheap, but it feels so much more luxurious than the other cashmere options that the retailer offers. There’s also a cropped version.
- J. Crew Brushed cashmere shrunken cable-knit crewneck sweater ($218 marked down to $154.50; 100% cashmere) // When I went to J. Crew, this was the other softest sweater in the store. The fuzzy look might not be for everyone but I think it looks whimsical and cozy. It is one of the most expensive sweaters on the J. Crew site, but if you feel it you will understand why.
- Marine Layer Harper Cashmere Sweater ($218 marked down to $163.50; 100% cashmere) // This beige and hot pink striped sweater stopped my in my scroll when I saw Grace wearing it. I don’t own anything from Marine Layer and I haven’t had a chance to feel the fabric in person, but this color combo is definitely tempting.
- La Ligne Mini Marin Sweater ($295; 70% wool, 30% cashmere) // As a striped top enthusiast, a La Ligne Marin Sweater has been at the top of my wishlist for years. In addition to the dark olive/Parisian blue combo pictured above, I’m also smitten with the solid chartreuse and the light blue and red.
- Alex Mill Alice Polo in Cashmere ($295; 100% cashmere) // Another brand that has been on my radar for years is Alex Mill. So many of my sweaters are crewnecks, so I love the polo collar as a way to add some variety to what is otherwise a monotonous outfit formula.
- Quince Mongolian Cashmere Fisherman Crewneck Sweater ($99.90; 100% cashmere) // I’ve purchased one piece of Quince cashmere, and while there’s no mistaking it for pieces in the luxury cashmere price range, it’s an incredibly value for a pretty solid fabric. This style is supposed to be a dupe for the $395 Jenni Kayne fisherman sweater, and influencers seem pretty impressed with the quality. A gray crewneck sweater is a wardrobe hole I’m hoping to fill, so this is a piece I have my eye on.
- Old Navy SoSoft Tunic Sweater ($36.99 marked down to $18.49; 53% cotton, 24% recycled polyester, 20% nylon, 3% spandex) // I’m ending with a super budget friendly find. I’ve been to Old Navy a handful of times over the past couple of weeks and I am incredibly tempted by this affordable sweater. Even though I try to avoid synthetic materials in sweaters, this piece is SO unbelievably soft for the price and I love the grassy color. I think I’m headed back to Old Navy today actually, as my husband is on the hunt for the elusive Barn Jacket, so perhaps it will finally end up in my cart. I also really like this sweater in the same color and fabric, but different cut, though I haven’t seen this one in stores yet.
