I’m having a baby in June so this is probably not a good time for me to be investing in new swimwear, at least without knowing what my summer size will be. I do hope to take baby to the beach at some point though, so I might have to snag the affordable Old Navy Swim Dress (sized up a few) while I ponder investment suits for a future summer. In the meantime, these are the modest, full coverage suits that I’d love to add to my collection. It is getting harder and harder to find swimwear that isn’t outrageously cheeky, and all of these seem well suited for a millennial entering her mom era and someone who simply does not want to show so much tush. March might feel early for swimwear, but popular styles tend to sell out quickly, so now is the time to scoop something up.

- Land’s End Women’s Slender Suit U-Wire Bandeau One Piece Swimsuit in black ($165) // A solid black one-piece is timeless wardrobe staple. With the U-ring top and removable straps, this one could pass for something far more expensive then it is. Note the reviewer comments on sizing – it seems most people had to order up at least a full size or two.
- Boden Lefkada Square Neck Swimsuit in Green Snaffle ($125) // I love a belted swimsuit! Bonus points for being available in long torso versions too. Boden pieces tend to move quickly. This is probably selling out as I type.
- Mary Oliver Marissa One Piece in Apple ($258) // This suit is a splurge, but the cut and color are so chic. And if you’re going to go all in, you might as well get the matching wrap skirt too ($158). It reminds me of something straight out of the White Lotus.
- Stylist Dream Sculpt Square Neck Tank in Ultra Pink ($198) // This is the perfect Barbie pink one-piece. So many influencers rave about this shapewear swimsuit that has an incredibly flattering fit, especially when worn over the specialty swim bra.
- Albion Fit Rise Bikini Top ($88) and High Waisted Bottoms ($64) in Pink Gingham // I’ve never tried this brand but I get so many Instagram ads. There are a couple of different tops and bottoms to mix and match in this print. As someone with a long torso, I love the look of the vintage-inspired high-waisted bottoms. I also love that this top style has dainty thin straps while still offering full chest coverage.
- Old Navy Side-Tie Swim Dress in Black/White Gingham ($60) // A swim dress is such a mom pick, but hey, this is where I’m at in life! This Old Navy suit is actually incredibly cute and affordable, and I really hope that this style stays in stock closer to my summer maternity leave because I truly have no clue what size would work in the month or two post baby.
And if I had an unlimited budget and it wasn’t sold out in most sizes, I’d absolutely go with this floral La Double J number. Where are you shopping for swimwear this year?
