DIY Linen Closet

This little nook in our office/guest room is tucked away out of sight, so that’s where we keep things like the broom and vacuum cleaner. Not wanting to let any vertical space go to waste, we took the opportunity to add some shelving so that the top half of this nook can function as a linen closet of sorts. Although we love the custom floating shelves we purchased for our coffee bar, we needed a much more affordable DIY alternative for this particular purpose.

The shelves were painted Benjamin Moore’s Newburyport Blue to match the walls (but in a semi-gloss finish rather than eggshell). We also used these sheet organizers from Amazon. Aside from the paint, we only needed a couple of supplies to make the shelves:

One day down the line, I might add a curtain rod along the ceiling and tuck this little closet behind a floor-to-ceiling curtain. But for now, I’m calling this project complete and moving on to the next.
